THE HAIR THAT MEETS THE EYE

You must not be misled by the apparently plain and ordinary look of the hairs. Behind the hair that meets our eyes there are big stories to tell and the story is quite interesting too. Our body has 5 million hairs and bulk of this is concentrated on our head and the scalp. The hairs belong to that rare few things of our body which are capable of self generate itself. You often run behind finding how to stop hair fall and other issues but do you know that no hair that meets our eyes is permanent. In the long tenure of your life on the earth the life of your hair is hardly two to six years. Did you know that the hair follicles which lie at the root of all hairs appear within 22 weeks of your birth? The follicles are never again created. When we grow the density of the follicles beneath the skin reduces.

Within our own life cycle each and every hair has its own distinct life cycles. The hair grows at the hair bulb which remains at the lower part of the follicles. After its coming into being, the hair grows rapidly for two to six years after which the growth of the hair stops. This growth phase of the hair is called anogen phase. As if after growing fast the hair becomes tired and it goes to rest for two to four months in the resting phase. The scalp has no use for the ones which stops growing and hence such lazy and spent horses are got to be got rid of. The hairs are then shed to give place for the newer ones to appear in its place.

As your body needs balanced diet and exercise for its well being, so is the case with your hairs too. So take care.
